An high-tech exhibition enhances local traditions
The television version of Hashtag has met Studio Azzurro for the first time at Palazzo Reale, in Milan, on the occasion of the “Miracle in Milan” retrospective. In the hall of the Cariatidi, surrounded by frescoes and sinopers, four smart mirrors – together with a projection on the ceiling of the room – allowed for the activation of interactive environments where the figures of the invisibles – those last ones who populate the city – materialized.
These works already highlighted the group’s interest in the most intimate truth of man in all its different shades.
Currently, Studio Azzurro has set up another show at Palazzo Reale, a large multimedia exhibition that celebrates Leonardo da Vinci 500 years since his death. The Machine of the Imagination consists in 7 video installations that engage the observer with images and sounds.
When visitors move close to these installations, which tell them about the nature, city, landscape, machines, painting, and mortuary slab of Leonardo, they step into the world of imagination. The identity of a truly multifaceted man emerges, a genius who could design flying machines and water systems.
MULTIMEDIA IS USED TO CALL TO MIND
THE POETICAL AND EMOTIONAL POWER OF
THE ANCIENT HERITAGE OF THE REGION
With “The Images of Gestures, the Gestures of Images” project, which takes place at Palazzo Mediceo, in Seravezza, Studio Azzurro (with Stefano Leone and Maurizio Marco Tozzi) concludes its workshop on the cultural heritage of the historical region of Versilia. This is another multimedia exhibition, and its purpose is to give value to man’s crafts, from agriculture and weaving, to marble sculpture and local traditions. These crafts are man’s non-tangible heritage.
Memories and stories are closely related to the lives of people, they live and disappear with them. Their poetical and emotional strength deserves and requires great care in the collecting, preservation, presentation and diffusion of a shared cultural heritage.
THE “CHORAL INSTALLATION” CONSISTS IN 3 SCREENS
THAT ILLUSTRATE THE ANCESTRAL WAYS IN WHICH
ORAL CULTURE WAS PASSED DOWN AND SPREA
The exhibition at Palazzo Mediceo also features installations in which images and sounds that illustrate this cultural heritage start as soon as visitors move close to the screens. The exhibition consists in 3 screens that illustrate the ancestral ways of dissemination of oral culture among the members of a tribe through the power of words. Experiences, dreams, fears and ideas were shared orally.
Thanks to technology and multimedia, “The Images of Gestures, the Gestures of Images” project gives value to the social and anthropological elements of the space the museum has dedicated to local traditions. The images and gestures of Studio Azzurro, together with the palace that houses them, are now also a part of man’s heritage.
